The Rhine Aboard the AmaWaterways Fleet. 2 unusual journeys.

To travel the Rhine River is to touch the very heart of Germany. Beginning in the Middle Ages, every Holy Roman emperor saw to it that this mighty waterway would serve as the core of his empire. Many others have left their mark on the Rhine Valley—merchants and robber barons, kings and bishops.

Johann Goethe’s Rhine journey in 1774 gave birth to the Age of Romanticism. In the 19th century, Europeans and Americans on the Grand Tour sought out its fabled castles and towers and sipped its lovely wines.

Get familiar with this important European river. A cruise takes you to the Netherlands, Germany, France, and Switzerland.
