Doing Cuba right.

If Cuba has been on your wish list, get ready for a visit in February 2019. The island has long suffered from a scarcity of great hotel rooms. No worries: Elegant Silversea ships now cruise to Cuba, so you can visit in style and comfort.

Here’s a special offer you shouldn’t miss: By 15 November 2019, book either the 14 or 22 February 2019 cruise to Cuba, and enjoy $1,000 per suite onboard savings plus a one-category upgrade at no charge.

The 14 February departure, an eight-day cruise aboard the 296-passenger Silver Wind, embarks in San Juan, Puerto Rico. From there, head to Santiago, Cuba’s second-largest city and one of its oldest (founded in 1515).

In 1959, Fidel Castro proclaimed victory for the Cuban Revolution from the balcony of Santiago’s town hall.

The city is also known for its music, dance, and architecture and for two UNESCO sites: the San Pedro de la Roca citadel and Baconao Park, a World Biosphere Reserve.

Then to old Havana, founded by the Spanish in the 16th century as a springboard for the crown’s conquest of the Americas. Atmospheric old Havana was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1982. The city is known for its history, culture, architecture and monuments. And oh, the music…

From Cuba, stop in Bimini, the Bahamas, for a day of fun—exploring a mangrove forest, lallygagging at Resort World, snorkeling above a shipwreck or alongside sharks, stingrays, or dolphins…

Disembark in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where there are shore excursions aplenty to choose from before you head home.

If you have more time to spare, we suggest the 22 February 2019 departure, 11 days aboard the 608-passenger Silver Spirit. This cruise, too, begins in San Juan. Stop in George Town on Grand Cayman Island before reaching Cuba.

Explore Santiago de Cuba, then continue to Cienfuegos, known for its exceptional colonial flavor. UNESCO declared it a World Cultural Heritage site in 2005. There’s time in Havana, of course, then a stop in Bimini and Key West, Florida, before disembarking in Fort Lauderdale.

As of this writing, fares start at $4,600 per person on the 11-day cruise and $3,400 per person on the eight-day cruise. Prices change based on availability, so don’t wait to book. We also have other departure dates on Silversea ships departing for Cuba later in 2019 and in 2020 (sorry, these departures don’t qualify for the special offer).
