Local Flavor
There's high culture in the Low Countries—specifically Holland and Belgium. Think Rembrandt and Vermeer, for instance. But beyond the painted canvas, the region has much, much more to offer. Brussels, for instance, is HQ of the EU and NATO (so many acronyms, so little time). The Hague is home to the Dutch royal family as well as the International Court of Justice. Gouda boasts stained-glass windows that will send you (as will its cheese). And Antwerp's got diamonds galore.
The Low Countries. Holland & Belgium Aboard the River Cloud II. 8 Days.
In April 2012, R. Crusoe heads for the Low Countries, Holland and Belgium. In essence, the itinerary looks like this: embark the River Cloud II in Amsterdam, and continue on to Schiedam, Gouda, Antwerp, Ghent, Bruges, Dordrecht, Kinderdijk, Nijmegen, and Venlo (for the 2012 Floriade World Horticultural Fair, held once every 10 years). We disembark in Amsterdam.
We travel aboard the River Cloud II, an 88-passenger river yacht filled with Mediterranean-inspired charm from stern to bow. She is among the most elegant boats to ply Europe’s rivers, hands down.
Perfectly sized and thoughtfully turned out, she is a real beauty. Think richly appointed interiors accented in light wood and Old World colors.
The River Cloud II’s expert European chef marries haute cuisine and regional specialties. A seasoned international crew delivers impeccable service. Our sommelier has chosen fine regional wines to compliment the exceptional menu.
Gather round the Steinway baby grand to sip champagne while examining Europe from the inside out. Make new friends and memories that will last a lifetime.
Please note: On this journey, R. Crusoe & Son travelers share the River Cloud II with other, non-Crusoe travelers.
