Gratitude
My job is enviable: I have the fortunate task traveling around the world, working with a marvelous staff to develop unusual journeys, and creating the travel journal that tells you all about them.
As far as careers go, this is about as fun a job as anyone could hope for. At R. Crusoe, we are in hot pursuit of the most interesting itineraries, best guides, top hotels, superlative restaurants...
While I confess that my planning trips don’t always live up to Crusoe’s standard of deluxe travel—after all, when one searches for the best, one also discovers what is definitely not the best—my travel is always an adventure.
At R. Crusoe & Son, we design travel with fascinating, behind-the-scenes opportunities. These journeys have established itineraries and departure dates and are usually limited to fewer than 24 travelers.
We also apply our expertise to creating trips for Special Groups: patrons of orchestras and museums, food and wine clubs, business groups, family reunions. The list is endless.
And, of course, we delight in planning Strictly Private Journeys for you, you and your best friend, you and your family—the key theme here is you.
In this section, R. Crusoe & Son will update you on travel adventures—to give you insight into what goes into (and is taken out of) your journeys. But I leave you with this thought:
I’m often asked,"What is your favorite country?" I don’t want to offend anyone, but the answer is the United States of America.
No one loves to travel more than I. I’m thankful for the chance to see spectacular places, meet intriguing people, learn about centuries of ancient history and the tides of current events, taste traditional and not-so-traditional food—simply escape to different worlds.
But the truth is that Dorothy was correct. There’s no place like home.
And it’s one truth for which I’m particularly grateful.
