Get to know our private Egyptologist, who stays with us throughout the journey, lending insights and opening a window into the past as we visit the nation's most incredible sites. Take time at the legendary Museum of Egyptian Antiquities, including the new mummy hall and plenty of Tut. Make a list of questions for our private cocktail party with a faculty member of the American University at Cairo. Consider Egypt past, present, and future. Get an eyeful of the Great Pyramids and the Sphinx as well as Memphis and Sakkara. There's more to see and do in Cairo before we head north (yes, downriver) aboard the finest luxury vessels on the Nile.

Fly from Cairo to Luxor and board our sparkling river cruiser. There's much to see and do and savor along the way. Have a totally private visit with the experts at Luxor, Egypt's treasure chest of ancient goodies. Want more? Return at night to see the hieroglyphics illuminated. Simply stunning.

Spend time with members of the scientific team at Chicago House, the University of Chicago's Luxor branch of the Oriental Institute. (Please note: the academics take a break from May through September, when Chicago House closes.) These people know their stuff (and you will, too).

We make the trip along the Nile from Luxor to Edfu, Kom Ombo, Aswan, and Kitchener’s Island.

Fly to Abu Simbel to be stunned by the Greater Temple of Ramses II and Temple of Queen Nefertari (Hathor). Back to Cairo for one last look before heading home.

Saying goodbye won't be easy. So while you're here, consider continuing on to Sinai & Jordan. Holy Land & History. 6 Days. 6 Days. Visit the best-preserved provincial Roman town in the world. Stand on the very spot where Moses encountered God in the guise of a burning bush.

R. Crusoe & Son can show you things you might otherwise miss.
