And so it went...
Last April Peggy
and Jack finally caved. They joined R. Crusoes "Almost
Last Chance to Cruise Chinas Historic Yangtse River" journey.
A group tour, as it were.
They discovered
they liked being met at the airport after a lon g
flight and driven directly to the hotel. They loved staying at all the
top hotels (no surprise here). They adored how their bags magically disappeared
from one hotel room and re-appeared at the next one. They enjoyed eating
at the best restaurants--some casual, some haute. (And even the beer and
local wine was included, so no fussing about paying for drinks or dividing
checks.)
They liked the
interesting people they met. Who wouldve known how to hook up with
an economist in Hong Kong, a doctor at a traditional Chinese medicine hospital,
a history professor, a chef, an archaeologist in Xian, two museum curators?
They took Peggy and Jack to interesting places and told them fascinating
things they otherwise never would have heard. |

Most surprising,
Peggy and Jack really loved their fellow travelers. They discovered they
had a lot in common with these people--smart, curious, sophisticated, and
with a sense of fun and humor.
Turns out Peggy
and Jack were delighted with their China trip and happy that they
had given an R. Crusoe & Sons Small, Select
Group Tour a chance.
Their daughter
and son were also pleased… especially as theyre both vice presidents
at R. Crusoe.
The good news
is that Peggy and Jack learned a valuable lesson: having R. Crusoe &
Son plan their international travel makes for a richer journey.
Meet the converts.
Five months after their China trip, Peggy and Jack embarked on a different
kind of adventure with R. Crusoe, a Strictly Private
Journey. Well tell you more about that in our next issue,
but the moral of this story is simple: Listen to your kids.
