Peggy and Jack
have an interesting life. As 20-somethings they met in New York City. She
was a nurse, he was an officer in the army. They lived in Europe, had kids
in four cities on two continents, and finally settled down in the Midwest.
Jack left the army to run a family business, and Peggy ran the home that
came to include the kids, her mother, a parrot, a bulldog, and Jacks
aunt and uncle next door and his godmother down the street. You get the
idea. It was a little busy.
About a decade
ago, Peggy and Jack bought a condo in Florida, and Jack semi-retired. More
time for golf, tennis, gardening, and socializing. And just last year they
started traveling internationally again.
Their daughter
and son encouraged them to travel with R. Crusoe & Son, explaining that
this is an upscale travel company that arranges unusual journeys.
It was five years
of hard sell.
"We
dont do group tours," explained Peggy and Jack.

"These
arent your typical group tours," replied their kids. "With
R. Crusoe, youll see the most fascinating things in a special way.
Youll stay in the best hotels, enjoy the best guides, and keep the
travel hassles to an absolute minimum."
"We make
our own arrangements," said Peggy and Jack.
"Its
difficult to do that in some places," replied the kids. "Take
China for example. Do you know what to do when your Hong Kong-to-Guilin
flight is delayed? What boat will you book on the Yangtse?"
